Ellie Jean
Hi Ellie Jean, welcome to the Indie Publishing Group website. Introduce yourself to us. Tell everyone who you are, where you’re from, what do you enjoy doing, hobbies and interests.
Hello. My name is Ellie and I live near Sydney Australia. I am incredibly lucky to have a husband and three boys aged 15, 12 and 10 who constantly keep me on my toes. When I have time, I like to watch action packed thriller movies, eat chocolate and then eat some more. I enjoy making crafty things and painting and because I don’t have a lot of time to do that, I enjoy making desserts and specialised cakes.
When did you start writing and why?
My writing career is so new. I started writing only two years ago after reading so many romance novels. Watching this genre develop inspired me to have a go and get my stories out to the readers.
Which is your favorite book you have written and what gave you the idea for it?
Sweet Deception. It is the first full novel I have written and decided to forge forward with. Thinking of all the alpha males and heroines in the books I have read and creating the ideal man I would ultimately fall for inspired this book. Don’t we all have erotic fantasies of being swept away by someone who can protect us from everything? (My husband being away a lot for work obviously gives me too much time to think…Ha-ha)
How did you come up with the title for your book?
I had a title in mind but it doesn’t portray the right message so I asked one of my beta readers and she helped me. A fresh pair of eyes usually helps us all see clearer.
Who helped you with the cover? Or did you design it yourself? What was your inspiration for your cover design?
I designed the cover myself. I thought I would have a play around with designs and tried a few then this one just grabbed my attention. I would look at this cover on the Kindle when deciding on a book to read if it wasn’t mine.
What are some of the themes of your story?
There’s hidden secrets, some suspense intermingled with romance and a lot of sex with an alpha male.
What’s your process when you sit down and decide to start writing a book? What is your process and do you have a system?
I need quiet and space when writing which is hard when you have 3 boys via for your time when they are home. I try and sit outside and write, re-reading the previous day’s work or the entire lot to get me into the swing of things again if I haven’t looked at the script for a while. Although, it’s usually write what I can when I can!

Kylie Scott, J. Kenner, S. Nelson, Jamie Begley, Olivia Chase, Maya Banks, Jamie McGuire, Meghan March, Sam Crescent, Meredith Wild and Sarah Brianne. Although there are so so much more…
Have you got anything you’re working on now?
The sequel and end to Sweet Deception.
If you could have any super powers what would they be?
To be in more than one place at a time or slow time down so I could get so much more achieved each day.
If you could travel to any location in the world where would you go?
I will say Europe since I would love to see all the historical places and art museums BUT if I am being true to myself I would go to Disneyland again in a heartbeat. I will never get enough of that place!
Where do you hope to be in 5 years’ time?
With my family and boys in Australia just as I am now although I hope my life has slowed a little bit. Oh yeah, I would also love to reveal to my friends and other family that I have written a good book and had it published for others to read! That’s my dream.
