Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction
Welcome to Indie Publishing Group Inc (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By engaging our services, you (“Client,” “you,” or “your”) agree to the following terms and conditions.
2. Services Offered
We provide a range of services, including:
- Cover Design
- Formatting and Interior Layout
- Editing
- Illustrations
3. Cover Design
3.1 Packages
We offer tailored cover design packages to suit various needs. Details are available on our website or upon request.
3.2 Process
- Consultation: Discuss your vision and requirements.
- Drafts: Receive initial design drafts.
- Revisions: Request reasonable changes; substantial alterations may incur additional fees.
- Finalization: Upon approval, receive high-resolution files as per your package.
3.3 Licensing
Upon full payment, you receive an exclusive license to use the final cover design for your book and related marketing materials. Preliminary drafts remain our property.
4. Formatting and Interior Layout
4.1 Scope
We ensure a professional interior layout, including font selection, spacing, margins, and chapter headings.
4.2 Client Responsibilities
Provide the final manuscript in Microsoft Word or a comparable format. Changes after formatting begins may result in additional fees.
4.3 Review and Approval
Review the formatted draft and request reasonable changes. We deliver the final files for both eBook and print formats upon approval and final payment.
4.4 Image Submission
Submit high-resolution images (minimum 300 DPI) via a file-sharing service like Dropbox or WeTransfer. Name files clearly (e.g., “Image1.jpg”) and provide a document listing captions with corresponding file names, if applicable. In your manuscript, indicate image placement with placeholders like “[IMAGE1 HERE]”. If images are embedded in the Word file, provide them separately as high-resolution files.
5. Editing
5.1 Scope
Our editing services cover developmental editing, copyediting, proofreading, and manuscript evaluation, as outlined in our estimate.
5.2 Client Responsibilities
Provide the complete manuscript in Microsoft Word or a comparable format. Significant changes during editing may incur additional fees.
5.3 Review and Approval
Review edited versions and provide feedback. Upon final approval, we deliver the edited manuscript.
6. Illustrations
6.1 Scope
We offer custom illustrations to enhance your book’s visual appeal. Details will be defined in our agreement.
6.2 Client Responsibilities
Provide detailed descriptions or references for each illustration. Changes after the illustration process begins may result in additional fees.
6.3 Review and Approval
Review illustration drafts and request reasonable revisions. Upon approval, we deliver the final high-resolution files.
7. Payments
7.1 Deposits
A 50% deposit is required when placing an order.
7.2 Final Payment
After final approval, we invoice any remaining fees. Upon payment, we provide the final high-resolution files.
7.3 Additional Fees
Additional fees for services outside the original agreement, such as substantial revisions or expedited services, may apply.
8. Client Responsibilities
Provide all necessary materials and information promptly. Delays may affect the project timeline and could result in additional fees.
9. Intellectual Property
You receive an exclusive license to use the final deliverables for your book and related marketing materials upon full payment. We retain the right to display the final deliverables in our portfolio and for marketing purposes.
10. Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for errors or defects in approved deliverables. We are not responsible for any penalties or losses resulting from their use.
11. File Storage and Deletion
We store formatting files and illustrations in the cloud for up to two years, after which they may be permanently deleted. If you prefer your files to be deleted immediately after your order is completed, please inform us before the project’s conclusion. We can package your source files and delete your folder from our system upon request.
12. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
13. Amendments
We may amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Amendments are effective upon posting on our website.
14. Acceptance
By engaging our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
