This Week’s Featured Author Interview with

Angela Page

Hi, Angela Page, welcome to the Indie Publishing Group website. Introduce yourself to us. Tell everyone who you are, where you’re from, what do you enjoy doing, hobbies and interests.

I am Angela Page, a native of New Jersey, but have lived in Europe, Asia, and both coasts. My writing career began as a hobby rather than a career, which was interrupted by marriages, divorces, births, deaths, graduate school, and a demanding job as a global collector for multinationals.

When did you start writing and why?

Trying to make sense and explore my complex family history.

Which is your favorite book you have written and what gave you the idea for it?

My first and it was following the death of a partner.

How did you come up with the title for your book?

I was convinced that the departed had orchestrated my last relationship and I had been “Matched in Heaven.”

Who helped you with the cover? Or did you design it yourself? What was your inspiration for your cover design?

The publisher’s design team did the original cover. The new cover is by “Angel Leya” who also did my “Suddenly Single Sylvia” cover.

What are some of the themes of your story?

There are forces we are not aware that may guide or offer opportunities.  The departed still look out for us, they mean well but don’t always get it right, or maybe we mess it up ourselves. There is also speculation that the departed are all happy campers.

What’s your process when you sit down and decide to start writing a book? What is your process and do you have a system?

I write a one-page synopsis and then an outline based on screenplay structure with three acts, turning points, climax, and resolution.

Who are some of your favorite characters and why?

All the Dickens characters (especially Miss Havisham) and all Shakespeare’s’ widows

Who are some of your favorite authors?

Roberto Bolaño Amy Tan, David Sedaris, Khaled Hosseini and Stephen Fry

Have you got anything you’re working on now?

Adapting my book Matched in Heaven to a screenplay.

If you could have any superpowers what would they be?

Time travel and ability give encouragement to my younger self.

If you could travel to any location in the world where would you go?

Paris!

Where do you hope to be in 5 years’ time?

A recognized author and writer for the big /small screen!
