Mary is a “seasoned” editor, self-published author of three novels, commercial publisher of two Literary Fiction titles and an illustrated children’s book, and an avid historian. Her writing career has spanned newspaper and magazine articles as well as specialized corporate and government materials on a variety of health topics. For the past seven years, she has worked with dozens of authors of both fiction and non-fiction to polish their manuscripts to be the best they can be. Several have subsequently been taken on by traditional publishers, including a memoir that was listed on Maclean’s 2019 Summer Reading List.
Mary holds an Honours Bachelor of Journalism and a Master of Science in Communication Management. She has four decades of experience in editing for law and law enforcement, privacy issues, aviation history, Indigenous history, and Canadian social history. Mary is frequently retained to edit technical memoirs and has had dozens of projects in the past few years for retired lawyers, doctors, pilots, military personnel, a residential school survivor, and even the lead singer of a rock group that opened for the Rolling Stones and the Beach Boys in his day.
