Dr. Louise Miller and her business partner, Dr. Daphne Carling, have hired a locum veterinarian to cover Daphne’s maternity leave. Louise had expected this relief vet to relieve some of the day-to-day stress of operating a busy practice. What she didn’t expect was to find herself thrown into the world of artificial insemination and the dark side of dog breeding. Louise’s friend Alex, a homicide detective, had encouraged her to have an open mind about the breeding world, but when an acquaintance is murdered, and an employee goes missing, Louise finds herself chasing clues and criminals.
