Angel Chadwick
Hi Angel Chadwick, welcome to the Indie Publishing Group website. Introduce yourself to us. Tell everyone who you are, where you’re from, what do you enjoy doing, hobbies and interests.
Hi, my name’s Angel Chadwick. I’m a mom of a nine-year-old boy who is autistic/nonverbal and making steady progress daily, avid reader, reviewer, and author of multi-genre books, plays, and other literary works. I’m also an inventor. I love and enjoy writing, creating stories and ideas are my passion and my purpose.
When did you start writing and why?
I started writing when I was thirteen years old. I was encouraged my seventh grade English teacher when she saw I had gift for it, when I wrote a short story for an English assignment and got an A+.
Which is your favorite book you have written and what gave you the idea for it?
My favorite book I have written so far is my latest novel “Weeping Well” it’s the first book in the series.
How did you come up with the title for your book?
How I came up with the title for my book, it just popped into my head I thought about water and tragedy, and that’s how that came about very quickly. Most times I think of nothing, and the titles just come to me from nowhere.
What are some of the themes of your story?
There are a lot of genres in this particular novel. I always mix genres in all my works. In “Weeping Well” (Vol. 1), it’s a mystery/ thriller/ suspense/ action /adventure/ multicultural/ multiracial/ dark romance/international crime fiction/coming of age/dark humor/Young Adult/New Adult/sports/travel/multilingual (subtitles are added where needed) to name a few genres that are included.
What’s your process when you sit down and decide to start writing a book? What is your process and do you have a system?
My process is like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and it’s a systematic world that works for me.
Who are some of your favorite characters and why?
I guess I’d say I don’t have any certain favorites, except to say they’re all a part of me, of my personality and experiences.
Who are some of your favorite authors?
My favorite authors are Edgar Allan Poe, Bret Harte, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Sylvia Plath, Gwendolyn Brooks, Lord Byron, Lucy Maud Montgomery, William Faulkner, Mark Twain, Washington Irving, Zora Neale Hurston, Ralph Ellison, Elizabeth Barret Browning, Laura Ingalls Wilder, and Astrid Lindgren to name some.
Have you got anything you’re working on now?
Yes, I’m always working on something, usually several works at once. I’m working on the sequel to “Weeping Well,” seven plays, a twelve book cozy mystery series and several short stories and other literary works and business ideas majority of them are already plotted out, and I’ve already started on them.
If you could have any super powers what would they be?
If I had any superpowers, it’d be to heal others and to fly.
If you could travel to any location in the world where would you go?
If I could travel to any location in the world if I could only pick one, it’d be Sydney, Australia.
Where do you hope to be in 5 years’ time?
In five years I want to be living permanently in Sydney, Australia, or in London in the UK and raising my son in either of those places, enjoying the rewards from my labor as an author, director, playwright, businesswoman, and inventor with as much seclusion as possible.
